My baby is moving out

My youngest child is moving out this weekend - he has grown up so fast.  He is off to University in another city so I'm helping him move.  I'm going to be off the internet till next Wednesday (unless I can get to a library that has internet) so the blog may well go quiet!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

I combined three challenges all sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps - and this is the end result:

I'm feeling Blue

For some reason I love creating cards in monochromatic blue - as I result I never seem to have enough blue coloured papers!  I would really love to find a paper pad that is completely blues.  For this one I had to used a more green toned paper.

On Holiday

Not me - the girl in the image.   Although, I will be going away for a few days soon so the blog might go quiet for a little while unless I can sort some internet.  It won't be much of a holiday though as I'm going to have specific things that have to be done!

Bugaboo's 6th Birthday Bash - Day Seven
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2016/01/day-7-bugaboos-birthday-bash-freebie.html

I used papers from a safari paper pad by DCWV (I used some other papers from the same pad earlier in the week).  I covered the join with a Peelcraft border sticker.  The image is the Friday Freebie image from Bugaboo Stamps which has been coloured with copic markers.  I die-cut the image and matting using dies from Spellbinders.  I also added three pieces of bling to the corner of the card.

I must say with the week that I've had, I am so thrilled to have actually managed to complete every challenge this week.

Bugaboo's 6th Birthday Bash - Day Six

Day Six is a photo inspiration - I was inspired by the cake!

Bugaboo's 6th Birthday Bash - Day Six

This time I have used a paper, image and sentiment all from Bugaboo Stamps!  I took inspiration from the paper for the colours for the image.  And this sentiment was perfect for this image and paper.  I coloured with copic markers and then added some Kindy Glitz.  I also added some faux stitching to the image and sentiment using a Distress Marker.

Bugaboo's 6th Birthday Bash - Day Five

Now Day Five was probably the most difficult one for me - but I still managed to complete it!

I have used two different papers to create a bit of a scene.  I felt the red one (which is actually from a Christmas paper pad!) looked like a brick wall.  I then I went with a random sky/tree looking paper for the top.  The image and sentiment are from Bugaboo Stamps.  Although they don't "belong" together, I thought they work well together anyway!

Bugaboo's 6th Birthday Bash - Day Four

Day Four is a BINGO challenge - I chose to work with Kraft Cardstock + Easel Card + Buttons

Bugaboo's 6th Birthday Bash - Day One

I am finally managing to post my cards for the Birthday Bash at Bugaboo.  It has been a week of not the best of health for me so cards have been worked on in patches when I have felt up to it.  I've felt better the past two days so have managed to complete and photograph all the cards!  Yay me!

Red and Black

It is time for our second challenge of the year at Incy Wincy Designs and this week we have a Tic Tac Toe board for you.  We are sponsored this week by:

Red and Black is the colour of the region I grew up in.  My son is due to move down there for University study so I think that colour combination is on my mind!

I layered black and red cardstock behind the image.  I added some black pearls in the corners of the red layer and some red ribbon roses in the corner of the image.

Cute Cat

After having a few days of not good health - and consequently missing the deadlines of a few challenges I normally do, I am feeling a bit better today and really wanting to craft something.  Not much time left on one of these challenges - but I think I'll make it in time!

The image is from QKR Stampede and is coloured with copic markers E35, E31, R46, YG06, R20.

I have used a blue patterned paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  I inked around the edges using a Distress ink.  The image is from The Paper Shelter and coloured with copic markers before glittering with Stickles - Diamond.  I matted with some blue paper from a scrap paper pack.  From time to time one of our local shops sells these scrap packs that have a mixture of offcuts - some as big as A4 - some patterned and some plain.  I also used some velvet ribbon that was from a bargain buy about 12 months ago from Opera New Zealand - leftovers from costuming and props.  I got alot of ribbons and embellishments really cheap.  I really hope that they do that again!  I added some blue glitter domes to finish.

Prosperity at The Path of Positivity

We are now midway through the Prosperity challenge at The Path of Positivity.  This month, we are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique/Glitterbabe and Limited Runs.

Two times New

I started off having a bit of a play on the word "New" - using an image pertinent to New Zealand.  Then I wasn't really sure whether that was going to fit the challenge at Ike's World - so I added a Happy New Year sentiment

I have used a retired image from Bugaboo Stamps called Chubby Snowman Scarf - I didn't realise it was a retired image until I went to link it up to the image in the shop!  Sorry - this gorgeous image is no longer available.

I have used a snowflake patterned paper from a paper pad by Craft Smith.  I coloured the image with copic markers and then added some Stickles to ground the snowman.  I added some christmas ribbon from Francheville and two puffy snowflakes and a snowflake shaped brad.

Calling to wish you Merry Christmas

This card didn't originally start out being a Christmas card - but somewhere along the way it turned into one.  It could have been inspired by the fact that I needed to ring parents for Christmas this year as I wasn't able to be with them!

Christmas Angel

Just before Christmas I bought  a "Treasure Chest" from one of the stamping retailers.  Basically, it is a cardboard box filled with miscellaneous goodies at a fraction of the retail price.  Here is what I got in my box:

There was also a Spellbinders Labels die and an acrylic stamp which I forgot to include in the photograph!

And I used one of the tags and some of the twine in this card:

We are currently experiencing some warmer weather so I felt inspired to great a beachy themed card:

Sparkly Christmas

I kept this card fairly CAS as I just couldn't resist adding Stickles to the background paper!

ABC Christmas - A is for Anything Goes

I love creating Christmas cards in non-traditional colours - and this year there has been more papers in non-traditional colours like this one from Craft Smith.  The image is from Deedee's Digis - a digi shop that has now unfortunately closed.  I coloured the image with copic markers.  I added some zig-zag patterned washi tape across the bottom of the card and three rhinestones.

Sparkly Butterfly

A bit of a CAS card - trying out some web ribbon that I found in a new store in town.  They had four colours of it - not black unfortunately as I would have like to have that.  The web ribbon I have bought in the past is of better quality than this one but I haven't been able to find it for some time.

The chill of winter......

...is warmed by friendship.

Isn't that such a lovely sentiment?  Perfect for this image too.

The East Wind - Flags, Banners, Pennants
http://www.theeastwind.com/

I have used a paper from a paper pad.  The image is from The East Wind and is coloured with copic markers.  I added some Stickles to ground the bear and the girl.  I die-cut some banners using a die from Tattered Lace and some offcut of patterned paper from a pad by Craft Smith.  The sentiment is a digital sentiment from Beccy's Place which I inked with Distsress Ink - Peacock Feathers.  I also added some pearls from Rosie's Studio which I bought yesterday (discovered some new colours that I didn't have!).

Black and White and Brown

Usually if I make a card with black and white and one other colour I go for something bold.  This time I thought I would keep it a bit softer with brown as my colour:
